who knows the max rpm from original propeller of volga

Post by Daan »

Hey everybody,

Who can tell me the max rpm of the original propeller of the volga ( see picture of prop)? I think there are a couple of volga's around that use the original setup. I will get another engine in and need therefor to know what the max rpm (and if possible torque) should be to calculate the gearbox, choose the right engine etc.

Greetings,

Daan

The original V8 is rated with 90 HP at 2800 rpm, then you have a reduction ratio of 1,546 of the gearbox.
Some engines were having even 3200 rpm. The propeller rpm is 2800/1,546. Don't change the propeller, it is stainless steel and you hardly will find anything alike it.

I think you should more read in our site. Most of the questions have been asked before and also were answered. You may also read recommendations from me and Christian Tabakhov in some other chapters.
