Hi Doug,

why do you want to turn it? As I painted my boat last christmas I took europallets under the foils. So I could work anywhere at the boat and I only had to use a pallet truck and two racks with flooring sleepers.
Otherwise, if you realy need to turn the boat buttom up it is possible to do it with endless hoisting slings. But it´s heavy work I think.

Best to you
olaf

thanks Olaf
we have removed the foils and am going to spray a 3 mil. flexible polyurethane liner /membrane on the exterior below water line
my boat is 47 years old it has arias of corrosion
over the years i have had problems with the hard paint popping around the flush rivets also rivet heads popping off after corrosion between the rivets and the hull
having a break in the membrane were the high speed water would hits around the foil mounting points would lead to possible water getting under the membrane and it pealing
it is very important to have the bare metal surface properly cleaned and prepped and the membrane sprayed evenly in a smooth method cleaning and prep in the stepped arias will be difficult at best
we well be applying an etch 2 part primer and adhesion coats be for the flexible membrane also
we have done some small plate replacement on the bottom in 2 arias and hope to also accomplish incapsulating these repairs to minimizing possible corrosion
we think we have a solution to role the defoiled boat [no engine]over using the travel lift as the slings can be shorted on just one side of the lift easing the boat over bottom side up
BUT STILL WOULD WELCOME ANY IDIAS ON THE ROLE OVER

I would be scared to roll my volga over..
The overhanging deck will bend easy.
But indeed a 2K paint is hard, and can crack quickly.

the only tip/hind i have is to do it slow and careful.

Good luck!

Wow, that is a project with much work. Here is a link with pictures. This is the behavior I would try.

At the floor old tires and then so as Mark say, carefully and bit by bit with long hoisting slings and a crane.

Good luck and thanks for the picture of your jack plate. How long is it behind the transom?

22 inches for the jack plate the nice part is it can be lowered or raised at full power to maximize efficiency
thank you we are going to use the boat lift the straps can be lifted from just one side rolling
the de-foiled hull slowly over ... we hope !!
