About Rostislav Evgyenovich Alekseev

How did the Molnia/Volga evolve? Under what names are they known? In which factories were they built? Where were they used?

About Rostislav Evgyenovich Alekseev

Post by Georg Weinstabl »

Dear Friends,

We all know that our boat comes from a russian design institute, but how much do we know about the person, who made the design and what else did he do?

That gave me the reason to pick out what was possible to find on the internet and on YouTube.

Here a copy from a russian documentation

A similar english version from Discovery channel

better than this (or best English version) a documenation trilogy from the History Channel. Unfortunately only little mentioning about our hydrofoils:

(2/3) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wvyXdcLR ... re=related
(3/3) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cFwCpTZn974&NR=1

Another one is potpourie from a German Documentation, they only give in the background music (probably the autor must have been speechless). Nevertheless showed good taste when selecting the proper audio background (007).

A goodie comes from RT (Russia Today), which must have been an US - Russian documentation also interogating American Intelligence of that time expressing their surprise with this plane. And finally they also gave the name of it.

There is much more out there: even a Russian Long documentation from 1 - 6.
Most of them come up with the same pictures as most of them were classified military films you may not easily find anything else...

Enjoy these up there or go out for all

Here is a nice russian reportage, showing so far unseen footage as well about Alexeev's work. I regret not to be able to understand much russian language. This one is surely worth to see!
