Hi everybody,
Just got a new Volga into my fleet.
The seller said it has been used by Leonid Bresnev when he had his summer palace at Black Sea.It had a nawy register in begunning, so it could be right.
The boat is in reasonable good condition due to stored mostly inside.
The boat has original hard top and leather seats.
As far as I know there has only been manufactured 3 boats of this type.? Have anybody seen any?
This boat was found in south of Ukraina, and it was really a "pain in the arsle" to get it out from there due to complicated custom.
Manufactured year 1977.
Best regards

Hi Robert,
Great find! How did you manage to get your hands on this unique boat?
Till now I have only seen one other picture of a 275, and it came from a magazine/book:
- Look at her fly!
And here is the plan:
I started looking in my collection for other pictures of a 275, and I was quite certain that the Volga monument in
Khlebnikovo was also a 275, but after closer inspection of the picture, it seems that it has a different kind of 'doghouse'. It looks as if it might be the predecessor to the 275, based on an earlier Volga (Strela).
And oh yeah, just like Georg I would love to see more pictures!
Kind regards,
Maurits

All,
I received an email regarding the Volga 275 from Gerd "Hydrofool" Malzahn from Germany, including some more pictures. The information is based on his correspondence with Yury Garanov in November 2001, the chief constructing engineer during the development of the Volga hydrofoils:
(...) there were only three types: Volga, Volga-70 and Volga-275. In 1979 Sudoimport could give "280" in order to present Volga-275 as new model, as ".75" was associated with 1975. Volga-70 and Volga-275 were built only for export therefore very few these boats were in Russia as well as in area of the late USSR. I do not know the owners of these boats in Russia (...)
Volga boats were built more 5,500, Volga-70 were about 500, but Volga-275 were only few tens, therefore only the units can be now. (...)
So it seems that there were more 275's built than only 3.
Gerd also attached 2 images of 275's:

- Location: unknown

Gerd also reminded me about the German website
www.ddr-binnenschifffahrt.de with pictures of quite a few Volga's that were used by the river police in the former DDR. The link has been added to the link-list...
Thanks, Gerd!
