Volga Hydrofoils Messageboard

In the attachment I have placed a story about my project with my Volga. Our intention with the boat is to use it for traveling on long distance (5000 km) on the European rivers. (ie. Rhine, Danube, Elbe, Oder, Don, Dnepr, Volga, Lena.). This is the main perspective during the project and determines which solutions are implemented (example very light weight but reasonably powered diesel engine 190 Hp and 400 liters of fuel on board).

I hope that you did not through away the original craddle of the boat. it is very usefull. If it is still in Romania try to get it!

What is the progress of your Volga now? Do you have it in the water yet? Love to hear/see how your boat is doing!

Also, in your attached document you mentioned that you had help from an Akzo specialist who made a special paint plan for a certified repainting. Would you like to share his report/recommendations? I want to start working on my 1979 Volga soon, and I am curious what is the best way to protect my boat.

I also drove my volga From Latvia to Holland this summer. Can you tell us more about the paint? Maybe i can order it with your help? My Volga is also ready for painting soon.

Since I had no time my paint job was done by Scheepvaartwinkel Arnhem. The top layer is a nailhard paint from http://www.de-ijssel-coatings.nl.
