Hi Georg, Just a short comment to the price of restauration of my Volga 2000. The wood work will take for two men about 6 -7 weeks, which means around 500 h. Hi, About the weight and materials, we use ordinary mahogany and teak. The deck material is about 9 mm thick, and when sanded and finished about 8 mm. Epoxy we use on the mahogany about 5 kg. Hi, About the protection of aluminium hull, in our area we use in saltwater magnesium on the aluminium, and zink on the stainless. Hello sandflite, Yes y are right about engine, there are no new marine engines GAZ 53 for sale, but the price is about 2000 usd at the cheapest dealer. For that price I cannot overhaul an engine to like new, when taking in acount that this price include a complete engine with starter, carbutator etc...
