volga trailer in real life

Post by Daan »

Hey everybody,

A couple of months ago, i have putted the autocad trailer design pictures on the site. Now, the trailer is for 90% finished. It drives like a dream behind the car and the slide system works great. Now we only need to make a structure on top of the slide system and at the back that will have the exact measurements of the wings. Also, we need to make a stop, so that the wings can be locked.

I'm really happy how it turned out. It has become an 11 meter long 3 axel trailer, and ways 1100 kg. A bit overdone and to long for our light volga's, but now i can transport a lot of different kinds of boats.

Cheers,

Daan

Hey,

Yep, you can use it for free, if you live in Holland. If you want to use it, be my guest! Here's a nice picture from the trailer and volga behind my volvo
You understaind how people reacted to see this combination on the Dutch roads. Actually, the transport went really smooth....

Hi Daan,

sorry I didn´t see this pictures before i asked for photos in the other thread, where you posted the drawings. I pay my respect for your idea and work.
Can you post a detail picture of the support from the front foils? Actually I restore my boat. and when I will have finished it, I want to take it on a trailer and slip it into water to be more flexible. But I want to use a normal alu-trailer. The support should have the angle of the frontfoils and roll on PU keel rollers on the outer frame. If I´ll need a second support in the middle of the trailer I´ll see then.
The back end of the trailer will be leaned up on hinged spport brackets. So it will swimm up when the trailer is in water and the boat will slide down, until it swims up too.

Thats the plan :D

I hope it works...
